Coronation Street Star Ben Price Teases Sam Blakeman’s Trouble Following Natasha’s Death

“Coronation Street” actor Ben Price has shared more details about his on-screen son, Sam Blakeman’s future storyline following the death of his estranged wife, Natasha.

During Super Soap Week, Natasha (Rachel Leskovac) left the cobbles when the revengeful Harvey Gaskell (Will Mellor) shot her, thinking she was Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson). Everybody was saddened by the tragic loss, but the main concern of the story will be young Sam who has not talked since the death of his mother.

Even during Natasha’s funeral, the young lad won’t say a single word. He even hands Nick (Ben Price) his eulogy for him to read on his behalf. As their worry increases, Nick and Leanne seek professional help, and Sam (Jude Riordan) is referred to the Mental Health Services for talking therapy.

No matter what they do, Sam still locks himself in his room and Leanne sympathizes with his feelings and gives him comforting words.

Coronation Street Spoilers – Ben Price Opens Up

As documented by Digital Spy, Ben price opened up his thoughts about the upcoming episodes and how his character relates to Sam Blakeman. “I think that really does tap into the heart of Nick as well and resonates with him about how he felt when he lost his dad, he didn’t want to talk or engage and he knows enough to know that the trauma is that deep-seated that it is going to be very, very difficult to get through to him at all.”

The actor also revealed that his character, Nick and Leanne, will be “closer together” as they work to raise and help Sam recover. It is because Leanne will successfully get Sam’s heart, for the young lad opens the door to her.

He said that Sam would rely on Leanne more than Nick. His character will understand what the child is going on but will miss all the activities he did with Sam before because he is also hurting while dealing with his son’s grief.

Knowing about the things that they have been through after losing their son, Oliver, Nick, and Leanne will be hand in hand in helping Sam to get back on his feet. Ben Price clarified Sam will not be replacing late Oliver but they will try to be one family.

He also mentioned how helpful Leanne would be for Sam’s recovery. “If there is anyone who can understand grief and help Sam get through it, then that is Leanne after what she has just gone through losing Oliver.”

With all those better days scenes, Ben Price shared he wouldn’t want his character to have a happier life, for soap will always be better with a little drama in it. He also wanted Nick to marry Leanne and have Sam take his name and be a new set of family.
