Coronation Street Star Billy Mayhew Talks About His Character’s Future Plot

Coronation Street spoilers, news, and updates tease that Billy Mayhew opened up about Daniel Brocklebank’s future on the cobbles.

In his recent interview with The Mirror, Billy Mayhew teased about his character, Daniel Brocklebank. The actor shared an interesting storyline for the future, which might take about one and a half years of exciting events. He also mentioned that the plot might involve his exes, Todd Grimshaw and Paul Foreman.

“Well, maybe you’ll be pleased about Todd and Paul, maybe you won’t. I don’t know. I literally can’t give anything away!” Mayhew stated. He also expressed his gladness as he’s still able to stay in the longest-running soap for nine years now. The popular actor has been into acting for nearly 30 years already and “Coronation Street” is the soap where he stayed the longest.

“You can coast for a bit, so obviously, there are years where you are not in storylines, but it is always lovely when they give you something meaty or fun. I hope I don’t get killed off. I’ve got a mortgage!” he uttered.

In other news, the iconic Daniel Brocklebank teased about the two new characters in the soap – Mike and Esther. The couple has been involved in the storyline since Summer Spellman got a bun in the oven. Esther once approached the youngster for her desire to adopt the child as she and her husband cannot conceive one.

Determined to raise the child, the couple offered Summer £10,000 in exchange for the baby. The pregnant teen finally gave in to the idea, however, she suffered a miscarriage. In the upcoming scenes, Mike and Esther decided to make the youngster their surrogate in exchange for her keeping the money.

Amidst the storyline, different reactions from avid viewers have floated into social media platforms. Some fans thought that Esther might be Summer’s biological mom while others stated that something undesirable will happen in the future. Meanwhile, Billy Mayhew mentioned that Mike and Esther might involve themselves in a displeasing storyline in the future.

“Oh, I can’t say anything. They are obviously… there’s something a little bit sinister about them I think and watching them onscreen… a lot of their scenes were without me, so it’s interesting to see it unfolding as a viewer. But there will be plenty of twists and turns before the storyline finishes, yeah,” Mayhew revealed.
