‘Coronation Street’ Star Millie Gibson Wants Her Character To ‘Fall In Love’

Coronation Street spoilers, news, and updates tease that Millie Gibson revealed what she wanted for her onscreen persona as Kelly Neelan.

Millie Gibson, who plays Kelly Neelan in the longest-running soap, joined the cast last June 2019. Since then, her character possessed one of the most tragic storylines in the show, like when she ended up in jail when allegedly accused to be involved in Seb Franklin’s (Harry Visinoni) murder. Kelly also experienced sleeping in the streets when she got no one to go to after being released from prison.

Being once homeless, the youngster found comfort in illegal drugs but renewed herself when she encountered Gary Windass (Mikey North) and Maria Connor’s (Samia Longchambon) goodness. Recently, she discovered that her dad, Rick, was murdered and Kelly was left heartbroken when her mom, Laura, died from cancer.

Coronation Street Spoilers – Millie Gibson Hopes Some Love For Kelly Neelan

During her latest interview with TV Times Magazine, Millie Gibson talked about her iconic “Corrie” character and she revealed what she wanted for Kelly Neelan. “I’d like to see her fall in love. She has had such bad experiences with men, and I think she needs someone to calm her down,” she said.

The 17-year-old actress also mentioned the murder of her onscreen dad, Rick (Greg Wood), and she believed that the truth about the crime must come out. “I think she’d be very sneaky if she found out. She’d have a little moment to herself and then come up with a plan for revenge!” Gibson uttered.

In other news, Millie Gibson impressed the avid viewers with her portrayal of Kelly Neelan when she bagged the trophy in the Young Performer category during the British Soap Awards. As she received her prestigious award, the actress acknowledged “Coronation Street” for creating an incredible story. “I’m so glad to be involved in such a great storyline,” she said.

The official social media account of “Coronation Street” took the winning moment online with a caption, “A massive congratulations to Millie Gibson. What an amazing talent!” The loyal fans showered the young actress with congratulatory messages, including Gibson’s onscreen mother, Kel Allen, who played Laura in the soap. “WOOOHOOO! So blummin’ proud of you, babba, and so well-deserved. Proud mamma right here,” Allen wrote.
