In the previous scenes of “Corrie,” Daniel Osbourne witnessed the unpleasant behavior of Max Turner (Paddy Bever) when the latter spiked Amy Barlow’s (Elle Mulvaney) drink. He kept the incident a secret for a very long time, but it bothered him every time he saw how disturbed Amy was since it happened. The moment he found out Max shared Nicky’s (Kimberly Hart Simpson) photos as a sex worker, Daniel threatened the youngster to tell the truth about the drink contamination.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Crawshaw offered Daniel a permanent teaching position at Weatherfield High School. However, Tracy (Kate Ford) and Amy saw Daniel having a great time laughing with Ken, which made Tracy wonder if she will report him to Mrs. Crawshaw. Devoured with guilt, Daniel refused the offer and thought about quitting the job.
Coronation Street Spoilers – What Would Be Daniel Osbourne’s Next Storyline?
In his latest interview with Inside Soap, Rob Mallard talked about his character when he rejected the permanent teaching position. “I think in his heart he wants to do it, but his head’s telling him that maybe he’s not actually cut out for the job,” he said. He mentioned that Daniel Osbourne was completely disturbed by the spiking incident and thought that he was not capable of his profession.
“So he’s taking the job away from himself as a form of punishment, but I’m not convinced he’s done with teaching,” Mallard uttered. When asked about the possible work for Daniel when he will finally quit his job, the 29-year-old actor thought that his character would fit for a lawyer as he is great at dealing with the argument.
However, Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) is already the Weatherfield’s attorney, so he has another job in mind, “He was training in journalism at one point, and that does involve arguing, so maybe he’d get back to that? It would drive him mad if he was to do something that was the same every day,” Mallard said.
