Fortunately, Gemma succeeded with her plan when Henry finally gave the Rovers a chance. He gave Jenny a call and announced that the deal was back on and the staff got to stay with their jobs.

The businesswoman celebrated the good news but the challenges didn’t just end there. Recently, Debbie Webster discovered that Philip Newton was trying to sell the Newton and Ridley Brewery to Jason Waterford.

During her latest interview, Sally Ann Matthews hinted about the future of the beloved social place. “She thought that if she could survive the pandemic, she could survive anything.

She did everything she could to save it, but the cost of living crisis and the fact people don’t go out as much as they used to do, all played their part,” the actress told The Mirror.

Moreover, the 52-year-old star expressed her pain as she recalled the place being the people’s haven in different aspects of their lives.

As Jenny Connor remembers all the special moments that happened to the pub, her goal is to maintain and keep the happiness alive.

“She sells the pub thinking that she can stay on as manager but then it looks like the Rovers might not have any future at all,” Matthews stated.

Coronation Street Spoilers – Sally Ann Matthews Opens Up Her Romantic Storyline

Aside from the Rovers Return crisis, the “Coronation Street” star teased about her sparkling romance in the cobbles.

“It’s really important to show older women in a positive light and show them having passionate relationships – I’m all for that,” she uttered.

The actress stated that romantic love must not come to an end even if somebody has children of their own and is already at a certain age.
