In a recent episode, Stephen Reid is reunited with his estranged wife, Gabrielle (played by Helene Maksoud). He was begging her to help him to deceive Carla again.

He was always humiliated by Carla. With his history of killing, we’re glad he hasn’t killed Carla yet. However, he’s been able to dodge the justice system for too long, and adding Carla to his victim list may sabotage his hiding.

Stephen was recently got shaken up after Owen told him that he knows he’s been getting money from the Underworld factory. He told Stephen that he knew he was putting it in Seagull Ltd, a fake company that Stephen had created.

Because of this information, Carla now wants to meet with the people from Seagull Ltd. Stephen asked his ex-wife a favor by posing as a consultant from his made-up company. He promised her that if she did this one favor, it would greatly benefit her.

Gabrielle accepted the favor, and she got on a Zoom call with Carla. She was able to perform well, and it seemed like Carla believed and trusts her. It’s a bullet dodged by Stephen… again.

Coronation Street Spoilers – Almost Got Caught

The plan wouldn’t have worked as Sarah Platt (played by Tina O’Brien) just went to the factory to return a device. Stephen panicked because if Sarah saw Gabrielle, Carla was going to find out that it was all a setup.

When Carla asked about the missing funds to Stephen, he was able to explain it by improvising stuff, which Carla fell for.

It was a great day for our resident villain again. Stephen Reid is like a cat – he always falls on his feet no matter how close he is to getting caught. How will this turn out in the future? Are we going to see Stephen paying for the dozens of crimes he committed? And is Gabrielle back for good? Her character briefly appeared in 2019. Then she last appeared in October 2022.

We’re going to find out in the next episodes of Corrie. One thing is for sure, though, Stephen Reid is not yet going anywhere with the type of luck he has.
