In a recent episode, fans saw Max prepare for a date with Sonya. He was caught off guard when he received a text, supposedly from her, asking him to take a picture of himself naked and send her the photo.

Thinking that the person who texted him was Sonya and because he was so eager to go on a date with her, Max did what he was asked to do. Later on, as Max and Sonya went out for a date, he mentioned her text asking for a photo. Max was shocked when Sonya denied sending him any text messages. He insisted that she sent him a text asking for a photo and in exchange, they would go on a date.

Max was nervous and horrified when Sonya told her that the only message she received was from an unknown number asking her to meet him so they could talk about the film. The pair eventually realized that someone set them up for a meeting.

Max texted the number and instead of getting answers, he was threatened that the catfish will release his naked photo to the public unless he gives them £1,000.

Max asked for help from his friends. They initially suggested that he report the incident to the police. However, they second-guessed their advice later on explaining that Max will be in trouble for sending a nude photo to a minor.

Left with no other option, Max decided to pay the catfish. But since he doesn’t have any money, he has to find a way to come up with the £1,000. So, he tries to transfer money from David’s account. The latter was then alerted of the suspicious activities on his account.

Max had no choice but to come clean to David and Shona as to why he was trying to get money. He opened up to his family that he became a victim of catfishing and has no choice but to pay the catfish so that his nude photo won’t be shared online.
