But things become worse when Gary Windass (Mikey North) attacks Jimmy, the leader of the rescue team. He thought that he was the man behind the memes about his wife, Maria. When the press got hold of the incident, they became more interested in Gary’s actions. Maria was left furious at what her husband did. Gary only made everything worse when he attacked Jimmy.

With everything that’s been going on, Maria will consider giving up her dream of entering politics. She just wants all the controversies and bad publicities to go away. But Sally Webster (Sally Dynevor) gives her some pep talk. The latter reminded her why she wanted to join the council in the first place.

Maria wants to make a difference in their community. So, Sally encourages her to look past the few bad apples and just focus on the things that she wants to do for their community.
Maria tells Gary that she’s not backing out of the council race. Instead, she told her husband that they would stay off social media. However, when Maria checks her phone, she’ll receive more bullying online. Can she move past the cyber bullying and just focus on the prize? Or will she back out and just help the community in her own way even though she’s not part of the council.

Spider Nugent (Martin Hancock) comes back to the cobbles. But his return may cause more trouble for Toyah Habeeb (Georgia Taylor). He’ll arrive at the protest that Toyah organized. The latter wants to get more involved with activism. She’s currently out on bail but she may once again put her freedom at risk when she steals the keys to the disused Nuttall’s Brewery building to help Spider. Will she be put back in prison for breaking the law?
