Fans may recall that Stephen returned to the cobbles as Audrey Roberts (Sue Nicholls) gets into a horrific accident because of her drinking problems. His return will be a comfort for Audrey but others will think that he has another reason why he returned.

David wasn’t happy with Audrey’s decision to make Stephen the administrator of her trust, which holds all her money that the family would inherit. He continues to be displeased with Stephen’s presence back in the cobbles, especially since she’s very close to Audrey.

Stephen may not be impressing David but he’s doing well with Sarah. They’ll meet at Underworld and Stephen will make a good impression on Sarah when it comes to handling business.

Later on, Sarah suggests to Sarah that they should purchase silk from Stephen. However, Carla doesn’t think it’s a good idea because she believes that working with family usually ends in disaster.

Carla’s dismissal of her idea leaves Sarah feeling frustrated. She talks to Stephen once again and gets a boost of confidence when he says that she’s too experienced to let Carla order her around. Will Sarah listen to Stephen? Is he intentionally trying to cause a rift between Carla and Sarah?

Coronation Street Spoilers – Audrey Roberts’s Take On Stephen Reid’s Return

Sue Nicholls weighed in on Stephen’s return and the reaction of Audrey’s family to having him around. The others may be suspicious of him but Audrey believes that Stephen is a good person.

“He can do no wrong and she sees nothing wrong with doing that as she is not disinheriting them even though they have done things which have been fraudulent and disloyal, so she isn’t really interested in how they feel about it,” she said.

Nicholls said that Stephen has given her character no reason to think that he has any other motive than to make sure that she gets what’s best for her.
