Coronation Street spoilers, news, and updates tease that the British drama has introduced a controversial narrative on violence against a minor, or at least that’s what it is supposed to look like. Hope Stape (Isabella Flanagan) accused Beth Sutherland (Lisa George) of attacking her.
The conflict began when Hope took home a chinchilla named Cilla. And it unexpectedly died after a few days while Beth’s dog (Peanut) was at Tyrone and Fiz’s home, which made her wonder if it was the reason why the chinchilla just died.
Coronation Street Spoilers – Hope Stape Wants Revenge
With her pet Cilla’s death in mind, Hope is ready to plot her revenge on Peanut. She wants to deliberately hurt herself using Vin Diesel, a stuffed weasel owned by Davit Platt (Jack P. Shepherd), then accuse Peanut of biting her at Victoria Garden.
This prompted Fiz to call the authorities to report that Beth’s dog is a dangerous animal. Hope realized that she may have overreacted, and this could cause Peanut to be put down – which is what happens to reported violent dogs.
It was later revealed that Tyrone saw Hope being weird with the stuffed weasel. Her bitemarks were compared to the weasel’s teeth, which confirmed that she was lying about the biting incident.
Fiz was quick to inform Beth that her dog was completely innocent and that the authorities were already informed about it. Which prompted Beth to approach Hope when they saw each other.
Beth said her piece about her dog being in serious trouble about Hope’s false accusation. As Beth was about to leave, Hope apologized but was firm about blaming Peanut for the death of Cilla, and she was supposed to apologize to her as well. Beth looked very displeased.
Coronation Street Spoilers – Did Beth Tinker Slap Hope Stape?
Onto the next event, Hope was crying as she got home and told her parents that Beth slapped her face. Fiz and Tyrone then called Beth and Kirk to confront them about Hope’s latest accusation.
Beth denied that it happened and brought up other cases of Hope being mischievous.
Fiz and Tyrone were pretty sure that Hope is not lying, but they also noticed that Beth seemed to not expect to be accused of something like that.
The two confronted Hope again and said that if everything that she was saying was the truth, then they may have to end a great friendship. And that they need to report the incident to the authorities.
Hope walked out after feeling that her parents didn’t believe her. The next episode revealed that Beth acknowledged the slapping incident even though she denied it. She even tries to persuade Hope to fix the situation, but Hope isn’t willing to cooperate.
Hope’s character continues to pique the curiosity of Coronation Street viewers as her every move isn’t always anticipated.
