Coronation Street spoilers, news, and updates tease that Tanisha Gorey talked about her role, Asha Alahan, and shared what she doesn’t want to happen to the character.
Tanisha Gorey plays Asha Alahan in the longest-running soap and she often involves in some dramatic scenes. She dealt with the storyline of her ex-boyfriend, Corey, who was sent to prison for ending the life of Seb Franklin.
Following all the bloody circumstances, she reunited with her former love, Nina Lucas. Asha also tackled anxiety in the cobbles, in which her girlfriend constantly panics, especially in the scene where she had to go to Glasgow University.
Coronation Street Spoilers – Tanisha Gorey Talks About Asha Alahan And Nina Lucas
In her latest interview with “What to Watch,” the young actress opened up about her character and its relationship with Nina Lucas. When asked about a possible ending of their onscreen love, Gorey revealed the plot she doesn’t like to happen to both characters.
“We don’t need a cheating story. Not everyone needs to cheat in a relationship. It’s a soap, we need the drama, we need something, but cheating should not be on the cards. Let’s hope that’s not the case,” she uttered. Moreover, Gorey hinted about a possible emotional strain between Nina and Asha, especially when the latter joins training to become a paramedic.
The young star also pointed out the characters’ possible moving under one roof. Given that Asha is already her legal age, Gorey stated that it would be a “perfect time to do something like that.” As the production recently opened a new precinct in the cobbles, Asha and Nina would likely have a home in the future.
‘Coronation Street’ Spoilers – Opens Additional Weatherfield Setting
In other news, the regular cast members headed the opening of the Weatherfield Precinct. Sally Dynevor, Tanisha Gorey, Elle Mulvaney, and many more, happily celebrated the new setting. In the past episodes, the characters mentioned the precinct multiple times, however, the place was never seen onscreen.
The “Coronation Street” producer, Ian McLeod, expressed his excitement towards the additional site of Weatherfield. “Expect to see teens hanging out at the dessert shop, families enjoying the play area, and after dark, a rogues’ gallery, up to the shady business in the ginnels,” he stated.
McLeod also acknowledged the “design and construction teams” for bringing their creativity to life in building the new spot. On social media, the official “Coronation Street” page shared the good news and fans never ceased to drop their adoration in the comment section.
