The entire Corrie cast and crew are giving their best to produce a great output in their upcoming Super Soap Week including the 45-year-old actor whose on-screen character, Harvey Gaskell, catches up in a prison van accident, escapes, and makes his way to the cobbles in the middle of the storm to take revenge to Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson).
As documented by Wales Online, Mellor stated all actors were put into PCR bubbles to enable intimacy that will help boost their emotions while filming the scenes. The strategy did a great job, especially in the intense scenes, but the rain machines made him weak.

According to Will, the rain added dramatic momentum to the scene, but it was a total nightmare, for they were working until five or six in the morning, feeling cold because of the continuity of the rain effect, which led him to catch the sickness.
“I ended up with a head cold, I’ve got chronic sinusitis, it was really tough, but it will add to it [the drama],” he said.
Mellor also shared that there were some scenes where he can’t hear Jane Danson talking because of the wind machine, and the lightning and rain effects.

There were also moments that they could get physical. Jane Danson shows genuine fear every time Will touches her. “Her fear is that he could strangle her, or rape her and he likes to play with her terror. That’s the narcissist he is, he enjoys it,” Will stated.
“It’s quite nasty and I was conscious as it is Coronation Street and we had to push the bar and we wanted it to not be tame for the audience but we have limits for the watershed. I think we did that,” he added.
In his latest Instagram post, Will Mellor shared a poster made by Metro.co.uk that has “Coronation St. Biggest week ever” written on it. The poster shows a photo of Harvey Gaskell under the rain with a wound on his face.
