With soaps, you can’t make everyone happy. A show could win every award under the sun and there would still be viewers who would find something to complain about. This isn’t just the case with Emmerdale, but with all soaps, both British and American.

According to Digital Spy, executive producer Jane Hudson teased that there would be better storylines than what fans saw in 2019.

“You can expect even better storylines than we’ve just done this year. We have got so much coming up. Marlon’s just been arrested so we’ll see what happens in that story.”

Emmerdale Spoilers: New Characters

Emmerdale spoilers hint that there will be more than one newcomer on the horizon. Backstage at the National Television Awards, it was confirmed that there will be “some new characters.” Just how many new faces will be seen? Could they be characters returning or brand new ones? How will they get interwoven into the current and upcoming storylines? That remains to be seen, but we do know to expect a lot of it in summer 2020.

It was also teased that they plan to top anything that has been done so far on the soap. Expect “huge” storylines. However, who they involve is being kept under wraps. So for now, fans will have to just speculate and wait several months before we see these scenes on our television screens.

On January 28, Emmerdale won the National Television Award for the Best Serial Drama. It wouldn’t be the first time they were honored with the achievement. The soap opera has won this award four years in a row.
