Coronation Street spoilers, news, and updates tease that Glenda Shuttleworth, played by Jodie Prenger, will not leave Coronation Street after “soap queen” Sharon Marshall mistakenly announced her exit from the show.
On ITV’s This Morning Wednesday episode, Sharon Marshall made an error and said that Glenda Shuttleworth would exit the soap. She immediately said that she wants Glenda back after her statement. And yes, she will have Glenda back because Glenda isn’t leaving in the first place.
It turns out that she got confused and had it mixed up with Amy Robbins who briefly played Christina and will leave the show. Sharon immediately posted on social media to apologize for the error.
She said that she was an idiot and that Jodie Prenger, who plays Glenda, will not be leaving the show. She must have felt really bad after the mistake, especially because the fans initially took her word for it. After all, she is the soap queen and has been a reliable source of information about these shows over the years. Sharon often shares news about other soaps as well such as EastEnders and Emmerdale.
Coronation Street Spoilers – Darker storylines in Coronation Street had mixed reactions
The mistake was announced after she defended Coronation Street as it was being criticized for introducing a lot of dark themes recently. For one, Daisy (played by Charlotte Jordan) was being stalked by Justin (played by Andrew Still), and the authorities wouldn’t listen to her or try to protect her. It came to a point that he tried to throw acid on her wedding day.
Another dark storyline is that Amy Barlow (played by Elle Mulvaney) was raped by her friend Aaron Sandford (played by James Craven). Some of these themes didn’t go well with other fans. Sharon defended it by saying that the humor is still there.
Some of these themes are just scandalous, but it gives light on the fact that these things happen in real life and the show was just able to spread awareness of these situations. And that in reality, some things could be cruel and unfair.
Coronation Street Spoilers – Jodie Prenger Is Staying
Now that it’s clear that Jodie will not leave the show, we may ask what she is up to recently apart from doing the show. Well, she recently paid tribute to comedian Paul O’Grady after he passed this week. Since O’Grady loves animals, Jodie paid tribute to him by adopting a dog in memory of him.
