According to the outlet, “What began as a death inquiry has become a full blown criminal investigation into the death of 13-year-old Anthony Zecca, Dog’s grandson.” The Sun cited a source close to the matter as saying, “this an active criminal investigation.”

More Updates

TMZ, who broke the original news, noted that a statement from a family rep said, “We are grieving as a family over this incomprehensible tragic accident and would ask for continued prayers as we grieve the loss of our beloved grandson, Anthony.

The chances of no scrutiny are slim because of the celebrity ties to fame of the family involved. Additionally, fans are aware of previous deaths in Duane’s family. Plus, it’s unusual to shoot someone dead and not face an investigation.

New updates noted that the gun was in the kitchen in the Naples apartment, and Gregory Zecca was wearing an an “empty holster” when EMTs arrived. Poor little Anthony didn’t die immediately, and although the medics tried to assist him, he succumbed to his injuries and died.

Other Reports

Witnesses who heard the shooting claimed that they heard “a couple of pops,” per Fox 4. So, it seems that the gun was fired more than once. Described by police as an “isolated incident,” it shouldn’t be confused with another shooting in the area a few months ago.

According to FindLaw, “When a person unintentionally kills another, whether or not a gun was used, they can be charged with manslaughter, which is a felony.” Sometimes, people like Dog The Bounty Hunter’s stepson, Gregory Zecca, might be charged with “criminally negligent homicide.”

Depending on the circumstances, the shooter could face a year behind bars or more.

When Page Six shared a video about it on YouTube, folks had a chance to express their sadness because the loss of any kid is devastating. One of them wrote, “Love and prayers from Colorado Springs.”

Another viewer said, “Tragic, unimaginable loss. Rest in Peace lad.” More comments of a similar nature arrived, with one person saying, “Rest in peace little man. I’m sorry.”
