Hilaria Baldwin Speaks Out On Husband Alec Baldwin’s “Rust” Charges

Hillary Baldwin has broken her silence for the first time since her husband Alec Baldwin was charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter following the “Rust” movie shooting which claimed the life of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, and injured director Joel Souza.

The accidental discharge took place during the filming of Alec Baldwin’s movie “Rust” at Bonanza Creek Ranch in Santa Fe, New Mexico. According to reports, a prop gun was given to Alec by the assistant director of the movie as a “cold gun” that is, an unloaded gun.

When the gun was fired, Alec was holding the gun. It is said that the gun first hit director Joel Souza before hitting the now-deceased director of photography Halyna Hutchins.

On January 19, New Mexico’s district attorney, Mary Carmack-Altwies, and Rust special prosecutor, Andrea Reeb shared that both Alec Baldwin and his armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed are been charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter.

On Sunday, during the January 29 episode of her iHeartRadio podcast “Witches Anonymous,” the 39-year-old wife of the actor thanked her fans for being supportive of her family in this trying time of their lives.

Hilaria said, “It’s been an emotional time for my family and I do so want to express to you how grateful I am for your support and your kindness and your reason,” she also added, “Quite honestly, without it, we would crumble. So thank you so much for being our rock right now because I don’t feel so strong.”

She went on to tell Dr. Hillary Goldsher how she tries to keep things under control with her children and the challenges that come with her self-care. “Kids are sponges and certain conversations are not always age-appropriate; we cannot deny that they don’t feel the energy and pick up on certain things in the family and at home.”

Continuing, she said, “also parenting little people can be stressful regardless of added stress.” Hilaria wants “Everything to be sunshine and rainbows all the time” for her children.

Hilaria Baldwin — Alec’s Attorney Wants To Fight The Case

Alec Baldwin kept on denying pulling the trigger from the moment the incident occurred. In an interview with ABC News on December 2021, the star of “Mercury Rising” said, “The trigger wasn’t pulled. I didn’t pull the trigger.”

“I would never point a gun at anyone and pull the trigger at them. Never. I have no idea [how a bullet got in there]. Someone put a live bullet in a gun. A bullet that wasn’t even supposed to be on the property.” said the actor.

After confirming the charges, Alec’s attorney, Luke Nikas said in a statement to NBC News on January 19, that Alec would do everything in his power to fight the charges leveled against him.

Luke said, “Mr. Baldwin had no reason to believe there was a live bullet in the gun—or anywhere on the movie set. He relied on the professionals with whom he worked, who assured him the gun did not have live rounds. We will fight these charges, and we will win.”
