50-Year-Old Leonardo DiCaprio Slammed For Dating 19-Year-Old Model

There’s an age gap and then there’s a Leonardo diCaprio-type age gap. A lot of people are once again shaking their heads in disbelief after the 50-year-old Hollywood star was spotted at a party with a 19-year-old model.

In fact, writer and feminist Dr. Charlotte Proudman pointed out that there are not enough people out there who are talking about Leonardo “getting close” with a teenage girl. Here’s what you need to know.

According to the Daily Mail, Leo was all smiles as he was getting up close and personal with Israeli model Eden Polani, who just happens to be 19, at a part in Los Angeles.

This comes after other reports suggesting that he is also romancing 23-year-old model Victoria Lamas. This is prompting a lot of people to wonder out loud: what gives? That, and why can’t Leo find company with a woman who happens to be in his own age bracket.

Of course, many people on social media seemed to agree as they commented on the situation with, “When you’re dating someone 2.5x your age, it’s a problem. It’s a problem because of the power dynamic as a much older person in relationships will feel some degree of superiority over the younger person,” along with, “It’s a bit sleazy and gross on his part, but she’s an adult, and frankly, it’s also bit sleazy on the part of anyone who who chooses to date someone 30 years older than them because they are rich and/or famous.”

Another person said: “Legal consent is 18? Struggling to find an issue here, especially as women are often far more advanced in their young adulthood compared with their male counterparts, and I know of several women who say they prefer to be with older men due to the immaturity of those the same age.”

But there was also this comment: “So what are you inferring? Age of consent should be raised? Age gap too big? The young lady can’t make her own decisions? They’re both consenting adults why does anyone need to judge them.”
