Jennifer Love Hewitt Announces “Surprise Gift”
The 42-year-old actress and singer shared a wide-eyed picture of herself holding up a positive pregnancy test on her Instagram account on Tuesday.
“Oh, baby! We have another one on the way,” the actress captioned the picture. “So excited to finally share this news with all of you. Thank you @clearblue for being part of our journey and giving us a platform to share this news!”
Hewitt married her husband actor Brian Hallisay on November 20, 2013, after the two met on the set of The Client List. They welcomed their first child, daughter Autumn James, in November 2013, and their son Atticus James was born in June 2015. While the busy mom-of-two admits that they’ve always been open about having a third child, they couldn’t have suspected that it would happen at the time when there is so much going on in the world.
“We had always been open to a third, but definitely didn’t think in the crazy year that the entire world was having that it would necessarily be this moment,” Jennifer spoke to PEOPLE, who first broke the news. “I feel like we’ve been able to so far raise two really special kids who will be great role models.”
She also added: “This has been such a pleasant, beautiful, surprising gift in this time to be able to get to do all that again with another little human.”
Jennifer Love Hewitt Jokes With Her Co-star That Pretend Pregnancy Actually Got Her Pregnant
9-1-1 viewers recently watched Hewitt’s on-screen character Maddie give birth this season. She revealed that her co-star Kenneth Choi found it funny that she’s actually pregnant just after being pregnant in their show and teased her, saying, “See? Playing pregnant got you pregnant!”
“Yeah, I guess so,” Jennifer joked to the publication. “The craziest, most surreal moment was having to give birth while being pregnant. That was very interesting.”
As for getting pregnant, she said that she’s loving it and it reminds her of how it feels to look forward to something exciting.
“And it was definitely a nauseous day for me,” she continued. “So that came with its own challenges, but it was a good recall back to those beautiful, amazing moments that you feel really excited about. I got to remind myself of that and then also be in a really exciting place of knowing that I will get to do that again.”
She also used the opportunity to raise awareness for a Clearblue partner March of Dimes and their “it starts with moms” campaign, which provides moms and soon-to-be moms with resources and information on important topics like getting ready to be a mom and maternal mental health and wellness.
