After 50 years of making music, Aerosmith is getting ready to call it a day, but not before saying farewell to their fans with one last tour. Unfortunately, drummer Joey Kramer will not be a part of it as he will be focusing on his health and family.
Awww, it’s time for Aerosmith to bid their last hurrah, and luckily for fans, they won’t be doing it in a low-key way. Prepare yourselves for one last Aerosmith ride. The band promises it will be worth it.
Aerosmith Announces – One Last Tour: “The Best Show Of Our Lives”
The rock and roll hall of famers confirmed that they’re going on one last tour on Monday. “Peace Out,” Aerosmith’s farewell tour, will be a 40-city North American concert that will celebrate their long-standing and successful career.
“After 50 years, 10 world tours and playing for over 100 million fans, it’s time for one last go,” a release announced.
“It’s not goodbye it’s PEACE OUT!” The band wrote in the joint statement. “Get ready and walk this way, you’re going to get the best show of our lives.”
The band is made up of Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, Tom Hamilton, Brad Whitford, and Joey Kramer. Sadly, Joey Kramer will not be joining the rest of his bandmates on their last ride.
“While Joey Kramer remains a beloved founding member of Aerosmith, he has regrettably made the decision to sit out the currently scheduled touring dates to focus his full attention on his family and health,” the band said. “Joey’s unmistakable and legendary presence behind the drum kit will be sorely missed.”
The tour news was accompanied by a hilarious video that saw stars like Eminem, Slash, Bill Burr, Terry Crews and Dolly Parton react to news agencies across the globe reporting on the news. “And if you think we’re joking, ‘Dream On,’ “ Tyler, 75, says at the clip’s close.
Kicking off on Sept. 2, the tour will kick off in Philadelphia with stops in iconic arenas across the U.S. and Canada — including Los Angeles’ Kia Forum, New York City’s Madison Square Garden, Atlanta’s State Farm Arena, Dallas’ Moody Center, Seattle’s Climate Pledge Arena, Chicago’s United Center, Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena and more.
You can find a full list on Live Nation’s site. There’s a chance that other cities, both locally and internationally, could be added in the coming days.
