FBI Assists Australian Government In its Investigation Of Amber Heard
The FBI is lending assistance to the Australian government in its investigation of the “Aquaman” actress on claims that she perjured herself during court proceedings in 2015 when Heard smuggled two dogs into the country. The news was uncovered by Law & Crime Network, after hearing from a source familiar to the matter.
Heard brought the two teacup Yorkies, named Pistol and Boo, into Australia on a private jet in May 2015 while Johnny Depp was filming the fifth “Pirates of the Caribbean” movie. This happened around the period that the tip of his right finger was severed “accidentally”.
When it was discovered that Heard unlawfully brought the dogs into the country, Australian authorities ordered for them to be taken out of the country or euthanized. The country has strict guidelines for bringing cats and dogs into the country as part of the prevention for biosecurity threats.
There’s a right channel for bringing dogs and cats into the country, but Heard decided to forego them. Depp flew the dogs back to the U.S. as the drama of the unlawfully imported dogs reached a peak in Australia and around the world.
In July 2015, Australian authorities charged Heard for illegally importing the dogs into the country, per the Daily Mail. In April 2016, Heard pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of falsifying travel documents and recorded a video, with Depp by her side, saying that she truly felt sorry for her actions.

However, Depp’s former estate manager, Kevin Murphy, testified to a different version of the story in 2020 at Depp’s libel trial against the Sun. The Associated Press and Page Six reported that Murphy said that he told Heard repeatedly, through email and phone, that it was unlawful to take the dogs to Australia without properly going through the right channels, but Heard ignored his advise.
Murphy also said that Heard wanted someone else to take the fall for her after it was revealed she did not declare Pistol and Boo in her travel documents.
Heard, unsurprisingly, had a different story to tell about the incident, as she blamed Depp for the incident. She accused him of telling her to find a veterinarian “to grease” as far back as 2013. A source denied the claim, calling it absurd and that Depp did no such thing.
