Amber Heard Money Woes Get WORSE Amid Insurance Snafu!

Amber Heard reportedly faced financial problems after Johnny Depp’s defamation trial win. But the Aquaman actress assumed that her insurance company would help. However, a new report claims that Amber may not get the money aid she needs.

Find out how the insurance company has refused to pay out on Heard’s policy. And learn what the company stated. Get the latest on Amber Heard’s on-going problems below!

Amber Heard Thought Insurance Company Would Pay Out: Oops!

Johnny Depp may face an unusually long wait for the money that Amber Heard owes him. Because although the trial ended with a win for Depp, Heard reportedly cannot pay out. And her assumption that her insurance company would shell out the big bucks turned out to be a miscalculation, reported the Daily Mail

Amber had thought that her $1 million liability policy would cover a portion of the $8.3 million in damages that she now must pay to Depp. But that policy with New York Marine and General Insurance Company includes certain requirements. And though it does include wrongful conduct, one very specific clause could turn into a financial disaster for Heard.

Because the insurance company issued the policy in California, the state’s laws apply. And that means the company can decline the payout if the actress committed a certain category of defamation. As a result, the judgment that Heard appears guilty of both “malicious” and “willful” defamation could mean the insurance company can keep its money.

Amber Heard’s Insurance Company Awaits Judge’s Verdict

However, Amber’s insurance company has now turned to the judge, according to TMZ. New York Marine insurance company hopes the judge will confirm that the policy and law concur that the company does not bear the responsibility of paying Heard’s bill. And social media commentators weighed in on the situation to play judge and jury.

For instance, one Reddit follower of the Amber Heard versus Johnny Depp trial shared, “I think that was a given. Insurance never covers incidents where the person purposely caused the problem.” And another pointed out, “If you commit arson and burn down your house you will not be able to collect insurance. Amber burned her reputation and future career prospects and insurance will not cover it either.”

Others claimed to have predicted the situation. “I said this would happen after she lost,” wrote one commentator. “No way is insurance going to pay for something she did intentionally. If you hit someone with your car accidentally, insurance should cover it. If you do it intentionally, they will not.” And the critic also alleged that Amber Heard “internationally made up these stories, she committed defamation with malice. She knowingly lied to harm someone,” concluded the commentator.
