Amber Heard – Calls Johnny Depp Trial Loss ‘Unfair’

In her first interview since losing Johnny Depp’s defamation trial, Amber Heard talked with Savannah Guthrie. And Amber got emotional in discussing her testimony. But she also seemed hostile in talking about who she blamed for her loss, per the Hollywood Reporter.

“To my dying day [I] will stand by every word of my testimony,” stated Heard. “I spoke [truth] to power, and I paid the price.” However, after the actress insisted on her own truth, she slammed Johnny’s social media fans. 

And as Amber looked back on the six weeks of the trial, she expressed anger. For instance, the actress called the trial “the most humiliating and horrible thing I’ve ever been through. I have never felt more removed from my own humanity.” And she described herself as feeling “less than human.”

Amber Heard – Names Scapegoat After Losing Johnny Depp Trial

Johnny Depp won his trial, and Amber Heard can’t exactly deny her ex’s victory. But the actress did find someone to blame for her loss. And even though the jury favored Depp with $15 million in his lawsuit, Amber didn’t scapegoat the jury members. 

As a result of the jury supporting Johnny’s allegations that Heard defamed him, the actress pointed to social media as the culprit. And she exempted the jury members from blame. “The jury is not immune to that,” said Amber about social media’s support for Depp. And Heard also slammed the trial as unfair.

“Even if you think that I’m lying, you still couldn’t look me in the eye and tell me that you think on social media there’s been a fair representation,” summed up the actress. However, Amber also looked at the reason why Johnny lost a parallel lawsuit in the U.K. but won in the United States. And she blamed Depp’s lawyers as a secondary scapegoat for “distracting the jury from the real issues.”

Heard sought to win by citing her examples of domestic abuse. But Johnny’s legal team alleged that Amber used fake photos and audio tapes to get fame by hopping on the Me Too bandwagon. However, the actress now denies those allegations of faking. “I never had to instigate it, I responded to it,” insisted Heard. “When you’re living in violence and it becomes normal, as I testified to, you have to adapt.”
