According to The Sun, Andrew Tate and his brother awaited a decision yesterday from the magistrate on whether they would remain in detention, be placed on house arrest, or be released on bail.

Tate and the others were herded into a police van at 3 PM local time and were driven back to the Central Police Detention Center (via Gandul).

The court hearing reportedly went down behind closed doors. The brothers’ attorney, Eugen Vidineac, said, “It was a long day. The defendants were able to express themselves.” The lawyer added that a decision was expected at the earliest “in the evening” but emphasized that he was “confident.”

The pair along with two other female Romanian subjects were detained in Bucharest by Romanian organized crime prosecutors pending the criminal investigation. The group has been in custody since December 29, 2022.

The arrest was reportedly part of a probe into human trafficking, rape, and organized crime. The brothers have, of course, maintained their innocence via an attorney and have challenged the arrest warrant. Per their lawyer, a verdict on the appeal is expected before the day ends.

Andrew Tate – Allegedly Claims To Love Victims

Andrew and Tristan have been accused of recruiting women on social media platforms and persuading them to travel to their $686k villa on the outskirts of the Romanian capital. According to the arrest records, the brothers would allegedly claim to be in love with the young women, before forcing them to perform sex acts before webcams.

Females were reportedly forced to film pornographic videos on the compound and were held captive 24 hours a day report Romanian investigators. Prosecutors also allege that one of the brothers raped one of the victims in March 2022.

Judge Denies Andrew and Tristan Tate’s request

“The possibility that the suspects would evade investigation, leave Romania and settle in countries that do not allow extradition given their financial possibilities and public comments to that regard cannot be ignored,” wrote the judge in the record approving the arrest.

Since the arrest was ultimately upheld by the court yesterday (via Forbes), in order to get more time to investigate, prosecutors can reportedly seek further extensions for up to 180 of detention according to Romanian law.
