Angelina Jolie Looking Forward To Kids Testifying In Court

The battle for child custody between Angelina Jolie and her ex-husband Brad Pitt regarding their five minor children is still ongoing. The pair’s eldest child Maddox, 20, is no longer a part of the custody case.
Recently, Brad Pitt was awarded more time by judge Ouderkirk to spend more time with the kids. The move was immediately refuted by Angelina Jolie who argued that the ruling was not impartial, and that the judge’s personal relationship with Brad and herself came into play.

Brad Pitt Gets More Kiddie Time

“A few weeks ago, the judge’s decision came down after a month-long trial,” a Brad Pitt source said at the time. “Brad has been awarded significantly more time with the kids. He had had very limited time before.”
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s Kids May Appear in Court

The Maleficent star and her ex Brad Pitt, 57, have been locked in a custody battle over their six kids since their September 2016 split. The pair share Maddox, 20, Pax, 17, Zahara, 16, Shiloh, 15, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 13.

For several years now, Angelina Jolie has been adamant that the children should be allowed to testify in court and that their wishes should be taken into account.

“Angelina feels it’s extremely important that the kids’ feelings about who they want to essentially spend time with are heard,” a source shared with Us Weekly exclusively of the 46-year-old Oscar winner. “She isn’t forcing the kids to testify. She has taken the advice of the children’s therapists. She is hopeful that going forward, with an impartial and fair judge, the children will be able to testify.”

Angelina Jolie News – Judge Removal

Following the court’s decision to remove judge John Ouderkirk from Angelina and Brad’s case, Brad and his lawyers fought back, appealing that the highest court in the state should review the ruling.

Angelina’s camp, however, was happy about the ruling, with an insider saying at the time, “The case has been sent back to the Los Angeles Superior Court. Judge Ouderkirk is no longer involved and Angelina is grateful to seek a fair decision regarding custody for the children.”

In the meantime, Angelina is holding out hope that the new judge will allow the children to share their opinions on custody and visitations.

“The twins are 13 years old, and under California law, a judge must allow a child that is 14 years old to directly address the court regarding visitation and custody,” the first insider notes. “The kids want to be able to travel with their mom for her humanitarian work. Shiloh in particular has voiced sadness about being limited in doing so because of the divorce.”
