Angelina Jolie News: Trying To “Heal” Family After Brad Pitt Split

Angelina Jolie news reveals that the A-list actress and busy mom of six is dishing that her priority has been on “healing our family” since she and her actor ex Brad Pitt split. They are in a bitter custody battle at the moment and their divorce still hasn’t gone through.

Hollywood It Couple Jolie and Pitt were together over a decade and married for two years before filing for divorce in 2016. They have six children and the legal proceedings over their split and custody of five of their six minor children drags on in Los Angeles.

The Oscar winner is on the March issue of British Vogue and she told the magazine, “the past few years have been pretty hard.”

She said, “I’ve been focusing on healing our family. It’s slowly coming back, like the ice melting and the blood returning to my body.”

Jolie added, “I’m looking forward to my fifties – I feel that I’m gonna hit my stride in my fifties. Though we were on the trampoline the other day, and the children said, ‘No, mom, don’t do that. You’ll hurt yourself.’

Jolie saw the irony as well as the humor in that since she has starred in action adventure films including Tomb Raider. “And I thought, ‘God, isn’t that funny?’ There was a day I was an action star, and now the kids are telling me to get off the trampoline because I’ll hurt myself.”

Jolie also spoke about her humanitarian work. She is a special envoy for the UN refugee agency. According to her, this work was inspired by wanting a “wider understanding” of the world after growing up “in a very empty place.” Jolie is the daughter of actor Jon Voight.

The actress used her interview to advocate for refugees saying that the discussion over their plight has diminished during the two decades she has worked with the UN.

Angelina Jolie News – The Actress Advocates for Refugees

She said, “We speak as if refugees are a burden. But they’ve had to adapt. They have a different skill set, a different look in their eye. They’ve confronted their own humanity in such a profound way.”

The mom of six added, “They’ve stood up to oppression. We should honor their fight. Honor the people who’ve fled bombs and protected their kids.”
