Anne Hathaway Tearfully Talks About ‘Armageddon Time’

Hollywood news and updates tease that Anne Hathaway got emotional as she opened up about her new movie. Anne Hathaway rose to fame when she landed the role of Mia Thermopolis in 2001’s blockbuster movie, “Princess Diaries.” She was loved by many as she portrayed the charming character of Ella of Frell in 2004’s “Ella Enchanted.”

Hathaway became an A-lister in the entertainment industry when she signed up for a lot of successful movies, including “Les Misérables,” where she bagged an Oscar trophy in the Best Supporting Actress category.

“Armageddon Time” is a coming-of-age drama that tackles about privilege, religion, and race. Moreover, the movie is also a semi-autobiography of the writer-director, James Gray, which shows his experiences growing up in a Jewish-American family in early 1980s Queens, N.Y.

In their recent interview, Anne Hathaway shared her thoughts regarding her new movie alongside costar, Jeremy Strong. The two play Esther and Irving Graff respectively and have a son named Paul, who constantly receives “belting” as a way of punishment. As parents themselves, both lead stars experienced heavy feelings while doing the abusive scenes.

“I don’t know why we’re not a world yet where it’s safe to be a child,” Hathaway emotionally said as she reflected on the movie. She also stated that their characters were just trying to be good parents, but hopefully not to the extent that they will be going to physically hurt a child. “I was just thinking about a world where it was safe enough to be a child in a tender way. Just remembering the day that we shot it, I’ve never done anything like that,” the 39-year-old star continued per Yahoo! Entertainment.

Anne Hathaway – Shares Thoughts About Abortion

The “Ocean’s Eight” star recently sat on ABC’s “The View” and stated her perspective regarding abortion. When asked about her thoughts, Hathaway claimed that “abortion can be another word for mercy.” She then further explained that women experience different kinds of pregnancies so there’s no way that the country will have a law that treats everything the same.

Additionally, the mother-of-two also highlighted women’s rights in her statement. “By the way, this is not a moral conversation about abortion. This is a practical conversation about women’s rights, and by the way, human rights because women’s rights are human rights,” Hathaway said.
