Anne Heche, who had a ghastly car accident last month August 5, died seven days later August 12, at the age of 53. Anne suffered severe burns on her skin, and according to reports from several witnesses, Anne first crashed into a garage of an apartment’s complex, made a reverse, and drove away before crashing again into an apartment in Mar Vista rented by Lynne Mishele. The building and the car caught fire, which led to Anne receiving severe burns on her skin. A coroner’s report says that Anne died from smoke inhalation and terminal injuries.

Barely a month into Anne’s demise, Los Angeles Fire Department revealed that the actress was in the burning car for a good 45 minutes before she was rescued.

Anne Heche — On The Rescue Report From The LAFD

NBC4 released a timestamped audio recording of what transpired when the LAFD arrived at the fire scene where Anne Heche crashed into. From the recordings, the LAFD couldn’t get close to the car until 20 minutes after their arrival, it took them another 20 minutes to pull the car out of the fire.

Now here’s where the story gets a little bit twisted, Richard Fields LAFD Deputy Chief told NBC4 that it was difficult for them to have access to the car at first and that was as a result of excess smoke everywhere, they went on to say that when they found out that someone was in the car, the person wasn’t at the driver’s seat to indicate that she was the driver, rather the person was at the floorboard of the passenger’s seat.

“Given the heavy fire and smoke conditions, it wasn’t that you could clearly see into the vehicle or clearly be able to access it, I will say that where the person was in the vehicle was not in the driver’s seat, but on the floorboard of the passenger seat.”

Remember that eyewitnesses said that Anne first crashed into a garage of an apartment’s complex, made a reverse, and drove away before crashing again into the Mar Vista apartment, the question is, how was Anne able to get over to the passenger’s side amid the whole smoke? Was it that after she realized that she was trapped in the car, she managed to move over to the passenger’s side, laid on the floorboard to take cover? This is by all means a rhetorical question.

Anne Heche — Anne Heche Wasn’t Discovered Immediately

The Los Angeles Fire Department arrived at the scene which is the Mar Vista house at exactly 11.01 am, and they discovered that someone was stuck in the vehicle, upon seeing the person, Richard Fields said the patient turned out not to be Anne but the person who was in the house at the time of the crash.

At 11:25 am, after attempts to control the fire has been made, the actress was spotted in the vehicle and she was found on the floorboard of the car by the Incident Commander who called it in. At 11:49 am Anne was towed out of the car and put into a gurney and loaded into the ambulance for first aid treatment before getting her to the hospital. A firefighter then reported, “We have one patient in the auto, being assessed, about to be loaded up on the gurney for transport.”

During the time of Anne’s treatment, it was said that the Actress was driving under the influence. Entertainment Weekly reported that the first time authorities tested Emily’s blood, bits of cocaine were found in her system
