Heche is currently under investigation for a misdemeanor DUI and a hit and run, according to the LAPD. Investigators have also obtained a warrant for a blood draw on the day of the incident.

“Over the weekend a representative stated that Anne was in stable condition but that information was inaccurate. She has always remained in critical condition, slipping into a coma following the accident,” a spokesperson for Heche told the media in a statement. “She has a significant pulmonary injury requiring mechanical ventilation and burns that require surgical intervention. She is currently being treated at the Grossman Burn Center.”

It’s also being reported that Heche might have been intoxicated while she plowed her car into a home and ignited a massive fire that left her with burns.

Anne Heche – Is Currently In A Coma

“The info we received this morning was a warrant that was obtained the same day as the traffic collision, which was Aug. 5. The warrant was to draw blood, and an investigation is ongoing pending the blood test results,” a rep for the LAPD said. “If found intoxicated, [Heche] could be charged with misdemeanor DUI hit and run. No arrests have been made so far.”

TMZ had obtained photos that showed Heche’s body being pulled out of her car and put in a stretcher.

Many fans and critics have weighed in on the matter with, “I hope Anne Heche pulls through and heals. Yes, she should pay the consequences. What she did was unacceptable and dangerous. She burned down a woman’s house because of her recklessness, that said, I don’t wish her pain or death,” along with, “I would think that with the degree of heat, smoke, and deadly chemicals released in that fire, and for the amount of time she was in there, that her lungs are in really bad condition. Not a fan of hers but I hope she is able to pull through.”

Another fan wrote, “Very sad! Yes, she did indeed drive recklessly and likely under the influence, but regardless of her major breakdown and mistake, this is very sad.”

We will update you with all of the latest details as they come in.
