For years there have been rumors about the supposed feud between the Obamas and the Clintons. Kate Andersen Brower wrote about the sitch in “The Grace and Power of America’s Modern First Ladies.”

According to her, Michelle Obama was disgusted about Bill Clinton’s cheating while in office and she considered both Bill and Hillary Clintons to be “overly ambitious.”

Brower states that this alleged beef began during the 2008 competition for the Democratic Party nomination.

At that time, Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama each wanted to make a presidential run. They were on equal footing as Democratic senators, but they had to woo voters to their sides and things got testy.

According to The New York Times, Hillary said Barack was “frankly naive” and tore him up for being newer to the world stage than she was. Hillary even accused Barack of plagiarism, but he chose to stick to more political critiques, questioning Hillary’s stance on foreign policy.

Apparently the bad blood persisted until Barack won the Democratic ticket, and the rest is history. Some figured that the feud was over at that point, especially since Bill endorsed Barack for a second term. Not so, according to another author.

Edward Klein wrote “Blood Feud: The Clintons vs. The Obamas” in which he detailed the alleged animosity between the Clintons and the Obamas. He went so far as to say that the couples “hate” each other.

Klein reported that Michelle called Hillary Clinton “Hildebeest” in private and that Bill Clinton said, “I hate that man Obama more than any man I’ve ever met, more than any man who ever lived.”

There are a lot of accusations about the Clintons versus the Obamas, so what is the actual truth?

For what it’s worth, CBS reported that Michelle Obama called Hillary twice, once before and once the election, asking for help on how to transition her daughters, Malia and Sasha, into the White House.

And, The Guardian reported that at a 2016 at a rally in Winston-Salem, Michelle gave some love to her rival, saying “If people wonder, yes, Hillary Clinton is my friend.”
