In the new trailer, Beetlejuice is back, but is he working with Lydia Deetz or against her? I know he swore on his dead mother’s soul, but hey, it’s Beetlejuice we’re talking about.
New Trailer Reveals ‘Beetlejuice’s’ True Motives As He Wreaks Havoc In Second Movie
Whatever you do, don’t say “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.” Too late!
This second movie is coming from the minds of Alfred Gough, Miles Miller and Seth Graham-Smith, with Tim Burton returning to direct.
Needless to say, this sequel is going to blow our minds. Like her mother Lydia Deetz (Winona Ryder), Jenna Ortega’s Astrid is a bit of a loner and an outcast, and when a group of school girls prank her with a Halloween set, she had some pretty sharp retort for them;
“When you’re all driving carpool and banging your pilates instructors to fill the empty voids in your life, we’ll see who gets the last laugh.” Forgive me, but ‘Wednesday’ would be so proud.
The First Trailer For Beetlejuice
In the first trailer, we saw Astrid open a can of worms when she says the forbidden summoning words and brings Beetlejuice back into the world of the living.
However, this time, it seems as if he is no longer the main villain, with an evil entity Dolores (Monica Bellucci) taking the cake.Seeking to protect her daughter even in the after-life, Lydia summons Beetlejuice and makes a deal with him.
However, when she asks whether she can trust him, the Poltergeist bets his trustworthiness on his “dead mother’s soul” before bursting into flames.
The thing is, even with the netherworld clashing with the world of the living, Beetlejuice still had time for a wedding with none other than Lydia’s daughter, Astrid.
In the creepy wedding scene, she dons a gothic silver wedding dress, but Beetlejuice was soon sucking the wedding attendees into their phone so that he could have some “privacy.”
I’m sure there’s much to thrill new fans and those of the 1988 classic when it drops this September 6.
