As a result of Casey’s absence, fans speculated about possible reasons. But ignore those rumors about Casey not approving of his brother’s bridal choice. Because an insider told People that Ben’s brother valued his role as parent over his role as brother.

“Unfortunately because of family, parental obligations at home,” the 47-year-old brother of Ben missed out on the wedding, shared the source. However, Casey did live up to one of Ben’s traditions. Just like Ben, Casey headed to a Dunkin’ Donuts in Los Angeles. Casey and his ex wife Summer Phoenix co-parent two sons. Indiana is 18, and Atticus is 14.

However, Casey didn’t let down his brother Ben when it comes to welcoming Jennifer Lopez to the Affleck family. And turning to Instagram, Casey expressed his emotions about his sibling’s new wife. But the social media post took a few odd twists and turns before getting to the proper etiquette part.

For instance, Casey could have picked one of the many new photos of Ben and Jennifer. But instead, he chose an old throwback photo of Ben, Jennifer, and himself. And to accompany that pic, Casey wrote, “Good things are worth waiting for. Here is to twists and turns, new beginnings, and finding new reservoirs of old love. Welcome to the family.”

And then it got weird. “Get ready for some real dysfunction!” announced Casey. Now, if Ben’s brother had attended the wedding and made that announcement in a toast, we imagine a horrified silence would fall over the crowd. But fortunately, Casey chose Instagram as his outlet. And he hastily added, “Kidding. I am kidding. Jen, you are a gem. We love you so much!!! ❤️.”

As a result of the unusual comment about dysfunction, though, fans seemed hesitant on how to respond. For instance, one wrote, “If it’s meant to be, it will be.” And another simply noted, “Dunkin’ donuts love.” (Sorry, Casey, but no one congratulated you on your eloquence!)
