Bethenny Frankel Claims She Saved Sonja Morgan From Being Fired

Bethenny Frankel has revealed that Sonja Morgan was on the brink of being fired from Real Housewives of New York City during season 10 until Frankel stepped in.

Frankel shared the news while speaking during the first episode of the podcast, Rewives. The new podcast comes from Frankel and will focus on real life issues, family, love and more.

Higher ups on the Real Housewives show were reportedly frustrated with Sonja Morgan’s attitude during the filming of season 10 as she was too consumed with her business ventures and her townhouse renovations.

“Years later, one of the producers, I will not say who, in the car said, ‘I think we have to let Sonja go,’” Frankel shared during the ReWives podcast.

Adding, “There was a scene at a restaurant called Cherry, a sushi restaurant, where I just light a match about her and Tinsley [Mortimer].”

Frankel went on to detail how Morgan’s career on RHOBH was suffering as well because she was also helping Tinsley Mortimer with her issues in regards to a place to live after her divorce and arrest.

“Tinsley started out living in Sonja’s townhouse, and was basically a nobody who had been arrested. By up to that point, she had this rich guy sending flowers and Sonja’s poor and bankrupt. I said something to stir that up, and it lit up Sonja, and she launched and she did not get let go,” Frankel continued.

“That is an absolute fact. I have the receipts,” Frankel said of the night she spoke about on her podcast. She went on to add that later that night “Sonja resurrected herself.”

Morgan has since heard Bethenny Frankel’s comments and responded publicly to her fellow Housewife. “The top executives, meaning not the producers on the ground, always told me that they could count on me to get epic material at the townhouse with #TeamSonja,” Morgan shared when talking to ET. “They said they could always get gold filming me even just talking to my poodle, not even having to have a conversation with a person,” she continued.

Morgan also went on to share her trust for Frankel. “I love Bethenny, and she always has my back,” she said. “That’s for sure.”
