Bethenny Frankel Involves Herself In Kim Kardashian And Kanye West’s Dispute

Bethenny Frankel isn’t just keeping up with the drama—she’s offering some tough love advice. As Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s ongoing custody disputes resurface, Frankel, known for her no-nonsense takes, stepped in with her own hard-earned perspective.

The former Real Housewives of New York star took to social media to comment on the latest controversy involving Kim, Kanye, and their 11-year-old daughter, North West.

The issue ignited when Kanye included North in a new song featuring Sean “Diddy” Combs, a move that did not sit well with Kim. As someone who has endured a decade-long custody battle of her own, Frankel didn’t hesitate to share her thoughts.

Bethenny’s Advice: Cut Direct Contact with Kanye

Frankel, who has been vocal about her struggles with her ex-husband Jason Hoppy, advised Kim to rethink how she handles communication with Kanye. While casually preparing a fruit salad in a social media video, she stressed a key point:

“Kim is texting Kanye, who is not a rational person, and she’s texting him as if he’s a rational person,” Frankel said.

She urged Kim to stop speaking to Kanye directly, emphasizing that a third party should manage their interactions.

“She should not be speaking to him at all. She should be speaking to him by proxy,” Frankel insisted. “Someone else should be the one interacting with him because, again, he’s not rational. He’s sharing her texts, and that’s a violation.”

Frankel’s concern wasn’t unwarranted. Over the weekend, Kanye, 47, posted screenshots of messages from Kim, 44, in which she expressed frustration over the use of their daughter’s name in his song.

“When she’s 18, [the trademark] goes to her. So stop,” Kim wrote. “I sent paperwork over so she wouldn’t be in the Diddy song to protect her.”

Kanye’s response was anything but diplomatic. “Amend it or I’m going to war. And neither of us will recover from the public fallout. You’re going to have to kill me.”

Despite Kim’s objections, Kanye released the track anyway, later posting, “Men make the final decisions.”

Frankel’s Key Advice: Focus on Legal Decision-Making Rights

According to Frankel, Kim’s energy is misplaced. Instead of worrying about trademarks, she believes Kim should focus on securing legal decision-making rights for their children.

“The most crucial part of a divorce is decision-making power,” Frankel stated. “God forbid something happens that requires big decisions—medical, educational, religious—those decisions need to be made by the sane, rational, non-punitive party.”

She further explained that, in custody battles, what ultimately matters is “what’s in the best interest of the child.” Even if agreements mention trademarks, she argued, judges prioritize the child’s well-being above everything else.

“Judges are human beings. They are not only about the letter of the law when it comes to the interest of the child,” she noted.

Bethenny’s Personal Custody Battle Informs Her Perspective

Frankel’s insights come from personal experience. Her own custody battle with ex-husband Jason Hoppy lasted nearly a decade despite their marriage lasting only two years.

The legal war over their daughter, Brynn, was lengthy and challenging, with Frankel ultimately securing primary custody and avoiding child support payments.

She recalled how, during her own case, she moved out of their shared home and purchased her own place—even though she “was not supposed to do that.” However, the judge “applauded” her decision, considering the circumstances.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s divorce has been anything but smooth. After seven years of marriage and four children—North, Saint (9), Chicago (7), and Psalm (5)—Kim filed for divorce in 2021.

The separation was finalized in 2022, but co-parenting tensions have been a recurring issue. Kim has often been emotional about the difficulty of navigating their family dynamic, even breaking down in tears in interviews.
