Reeves and Winter’s on-screen collaboration dates back to 1989 with “Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure,” followed by “Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey” in 1991, and “Bill & Ted Face the Music” in 2020.
Their chemistry and shared sense of humor are expected to bring a unique dynamic to Beckett’s complex, yet humorous play.
Reeves, known for his appearances in the “John Wick” series, the movies “The Matrix,” “Constantine,” “My Own Private Idaho,” “Dangerous Liaisons,” “The Gift,” “Parenthood,” “Something’s Gotta Give,” and “Always Be My Maybe,” is set to make his Broadway debut.

Reeves provided the concept for the production, according to Jamie Lloyd, who is well-known for his critically praised revivals of popular plays, such as “A Doll’s House” starring Jessica Chastain and “Romeo & Juliet” with Tom Holland.
Lloyd highlighted the importance of the pair’s enduring friendship and their capacity to manage the play’s depth and humor by saying, “Their instant chemistry and their shorthand and their friendship is going to be so valuable,” said Lloyd, 43.
The existentialist play “Waiting for Godot” features Estragon and Vladimir, who are waiting for the enigmatic Godot to appear. The play alternates between hope and despair.
It is a theatrical reunion for fans of Reeves and Winter alike, a melding of nostalgia and the creative unknown. Excitement is building for a production that promises to be as thought-provoking as it is entertaining as they get ready to play Estragon and Vladimir.
