If we dialed the time back to early December 2024, most of this media circus surrounding Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni wouldn’t be in existence. I say most because it’s become sort of open knowledge even before then that the two lead stars of ‘It Ends With Us’ suffered such a falling out that they couldn’t even condescend to promote the movie together.
But the media circus happening right now looks set to eclipse the madness that enveloped Johnny Depp and Amber Heard if it continues on its cause.
TikTokers, X users, and many others are sharing a hundred different crumbs per day, and the speculations, clearly, have gone wild. To add to the madness, Baldoni launched a website where he shared multiple texts from Lively.
As fun as this playground might be for us, the presiding judge wants both parties and their teams to dial it back for the sake of the jury.
Judge Issues Caution To Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni Over Engaging In An Online Battle
A New York Judge doesn’t want anybody with skin in the ongoing Lively/Baldoni court battle to be releasing more materials regarding the case to the public space.
On Feb. 3, attorneys for both actors appeared in court for the first time since their clients sued each other. Lively, 37, and Baldoni, 41, were absent. During the session, Lively’s lawyers tried to rein in Baldoni’s team’s efforts to dismantle Lively’s claims and safeguard his reputation.
However, judge Lewis Liman told both parties to quit playing the media game, or he might be forced to expedite the trial.
He further advised them to comply with the New York Rules of Professional Conduct. This prevents attorneys from making comments that could have a “substantial likelihood” of biasing a jury.
What Baldoni And Lively’s Attorneys Have Said Following the Court Hearing
Following the court hearing, Baldoni’s attorney, Freedman, revealed that his “clients are devastated financially and emotionally,” as they prepare to head to trial in March 2026.
Attorneys for Lively, Michael Gottlieb and Esra Hudson, said “We are pleased with the result of today’s hearing and eager to move forward immediately with discovery in this case.”
“The court granted our request that all attorneys in the matter actually follow the rule of law and not make any statements that could prejudice a jury,” they continued. “This case deals with serious allegations of sexual harassment and retaliation. We will hold the defendants accountable, and we are confident that once all the evidence is submitted in this matter, Ms. Lively will prevail.”
Outside court, Freedman told The Hollywood Reporter, “I couldn’t be more pleased with how the case was handled today. We’re going to move as quickly as possible and prove our innocence.”
