Celebrity baby announcements range from heart-warming to witty. But Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds just might win for the cleverest. And some fans initially reacted with bewilderment, questioning what Lively and Reynolds meant.
Lively took the lead in spilling the baby news. And she chose Super Bowl Sunday to show her Instagram fans a photo in which the Gossip Girl alum, 35, noticeably no longer sported a baby bump. But her caption kept it inscrutable. And Blake simply wrote, “Puppy Bowl Sunday 2023 been busy,” noted People.
However, Lively posted a photo that actually offered two clues. Because in addition to her missing baby bump, Blake posed with Reynolds’ mother, Tammy. And that led the star’s followers to conclude that she hinted that her own and Ryan’s fourth baby had arrived. For instance, Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld wrote, “Epic post! For all the reasons!!!”

The new baby means that Lively and Reynolds now co-parent four children. And the infant joined the actress’ and actor’s daughters Betty, 3, Inez, 6, and James, 8. Prior to the baby announcement, Ryan shared how his children feel.
“They’re in. They love it,” shared the Deadpool actor about his daughters. “They’re ready.” And Reynolds shared that he feels “very excited.”
But with his trademark sarcasm, Ryan added, “We’d have to be. You know, you’d have to be a moron to do this four times if you didn’t like it. It’s gonna be nuts,” he predicted. “But we’re very excited.”

However, last month, Lively and Reynolds took a break from their usual humorous comments. And the Gossip Girl alum got emotional prior to Ryan’s acceptance the prestigious American Cinematheque Award in Los Angeles. For instance, Blake reflected on how dedicated her husband has become to his films.
And as the couple awaited the birth of their fourth child, Lively also praised her husband’s love for his family. “This man, he has contributed so much to the world’s most international happiness with his art, his heart, his philanthropy, his humor, his integrity, his unmatched work ethic, his self-deprecating levity, his hard-earned depths in his scripts,” said the actress. And Blake also praised Ryan’s focus on their home life.
“And now I am his home, and our girls are his home,” Lively shared. “Just like that 19-year-old boy [who used to commute home to Canada], he races home,” she added. “Whether it’s from across the globe or a meeting across the street, he is hard-wired to get home. If he came home from set not in his wardrobe, we would be very concerned.”
