Blake Shelton is reportedly producing a new music competition show that will rival The Voice. He stepped away from the NBC show to focus on his marriage with Gwen Stefani and her three sons.
However, Blake is working more than ever. Now, he’s itching to start another show. Read on to learn more.
Blake Shelton Wants To Start A New Show
According to a new report, Blake Shelton is in talks to produce a new music competition that could rival The Voice. He wants to grab the viewers from the competing series.
A source has unveiled Blake’s plans to expand his entertainment portfolio. In 2023, Blake stepped away from The Voice.
Blake wants to become the next Ryan Seacrest or Simon Cowell. He has a star-studded game show called Barmageddon. Blake created the series alongside TV Voice executive producer Lee Metzger.
An insider who’s connected to the entertainment industry told The U.S. Sun that the country singer wants to start a music competition of his own. It might be geared towards the country music genre.
“Barmageddon has been a fun side project for Blake and he continues to wait for a word on a third-season renewal of the show,” the insider told the outlet. “But it’s not anywhere near the scale of The Voice and Blake’s ambition is still to eventually produce a music competition show and for it to be even bigger than anything that has come before.”
Conquering TV Industry
The source claims that Blake Shelton wants to conquer the television industry. He believes that he can get it done. But, it’s not enough. He wants to take it even further in his career.
“But Blake wants to go a lot further than that in television and everybody believes he will,” the source said. “He has great instincts and a huge fan base ready to embrace whatever he does next as a TV creator and producer.”
Back in May 2023, Blake Shelton and Lee Metzger launched Lucky Horseshoe Productions. This new show may be under this production company.
As for the reason why Blake left The Voice, a source previously told The U.S. Sun that he has a desire to become “a TV mogul like Cowell or Seacrest.”
