Brad Pitt has accused his ex-wife Angelina Jolie of selling off her half of the former couple’s French winery, Chateau Miraval to “a Russian oligarch,” and claims it was done with “poisonous intentions.”
According to the Daily Mail, an ongoing battle between the By the Sea stars has taken a more sinister turn. Pitt, 58, is now accusing his Maleficent ex-wife of trying to bring harm to him be covertly selling off her half of their French winery. Continue reading and we’ll give you the low down.
Angelina Joli – Sells To Stoli
Pitt accused the Salt star of selling the winery to a company owned by Russian oligarch, Yuri Shefler, who also makes the flagship Russian vodka Stolichnaya, renamed Stoli. The move allegedly included a plan to gain complete control of the company, according to legal documents.
Joli, who is currently 47 years old, sold her half of the prosperous company to Yuri Shefler, who, though still called a “Russian oligarch” has made, the legal papers claim, “desperate attempts to disassociate himself from the Putin regime, the Stoli brand is now a massive international liability,” following Putin’s recent invasion of Ukraine.
Brad Pitt – Claims Responsibility for Winery’s Success
The Documents, filed in a Los Angeles court on June 3 say, “Stolichnaya has been the object of boycotts throughout the world. The US Treasury Department designated Shefler as an ‘oligarch in the Russian Federation’ in an unclassified report to Congress made pursuant to the Countering America’s Adversaries Through Sanctions Act of 2017.”
The Chateau is in the South of France and was the location for the former couple’s 2014 wedding. The winery became a “passion” for the Legends of the Fall star, and, with his help, it became one of the world’s most high-regarded producers of rosé wine, per court documents.

Papers Say Angelina Jolie ‘Knowingly Violated’ Brad Pitt’s Contractual Rights
The papers, filed by Pitt’s attorneys, stipulate that, in 2021, the Tomb Raider star “purported to sell her interest to Tenute del Mondo, a hostile third-party competitor bent on taking control of Miraval.” They allege that Jolie’s motivation behind the sale was to “inflict harm on Pitt.”
According to the Guardian, the legal documents say that Jolie “pursued and then consummated the purported sale in secret, purposely keeping Pitt in the dark, and knowingly violating Pitt’s contractual rights.” The timing of the sale was linked to a judge’s decision to tentatively grant Pitt 50/50 custody of the former couple’s five children.
Jolie was reportedly “livid,” and “vindictive,” following the decision. Be sure and stay apprised of the Jolie/Pitt situation and return here often for more spoilers, news, and updates.
