According to Brad Pitt‘s lawyers, the actor is big enough to own whatever it is he’s done, but he will not be lying down while he’s slandered with things he hasn’t done.
In his legal team’s personal statement, Angelina Jolie and her team are trying to get him to submit documents that relate to the 2016 plane incident that saw the dissolution of their marriage, even though it has very little bearing on the case at hand.
Pitt, as some of you may know, is suing Jolie for selling her stake in a French winery Chateau Miraval that they purchased while married without his consent.
Brad Pitt Doesn’t Want To Disclose Information From Therapy He Voluntarily Undertook To Better Himself
The “Eternals” star has always held her ground when it comes to what happened in the now infamous plane ride in 2016, where Pitt allegedly got physical with her and some of their children.
A lawyer had previously claimed that while Pitt is ready to own his mistakes, he won’t admit to what he didn’t do, or what didn’t happen.
Even though The L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services and the FBI investigated the matter, Pitt, 60, was charged with no criminal charges.
Brad Pitt’s Legal Team Hits Back After Angelina Jolie Allegedly Made “54 Requests” To Expose His Personal Documents
Pitt is suing his ex over selling her stake in their joint wine business without consulting him. According to sources, Pitt’s original plan was for his children to inherit the business.
However, as the legal battle rages, Pitt’s team has accused Jolie of making 54 attempts to expose the actor’s private documents.
His lawyer wrote, “To avoid unnecessary motion practice and another public filing rife with personal attacks, Pitt voluntarily offered to produce documents sufficient to show everything that occurred on the flight that precipitated the ex-couple’s divorce.”
They continued, “If Jolie’s Requests were really about ‘what happened on that plane’ as she claims Pitt’s offer should have sufficed. Jolie, however, rejected Pitt’s compromise and moved to compel his communications with third parties—including his most trusted advisors—about such sensitive issues as the therapy he voluntarily undertook after the flight incident in an effort to better himself, ‘drug and alcohol testing’ he has allegedly undergone, his alleged ‘overuse or abuse of alcohol,’ and other actions taken in the aftermath of the flight”.
They added: “These private, third-party communications are far removed from the issues and allegations in this case, and in many cases, they have nothing but the most tenuous relationship to ‘what happened on that plane.’ Jolie, however, wants them anyway as part of her efforts to turn this business dispute into a re-litigation of the former couple’s divorce case.”
According to Jolie, she didn’t need Pitt’s consent to share her stake in the company.
