Angelina Jolie – Attorneys Try To Serve Brad Pitt Subpoena At SAG Awards

Glittery, glamorous award shows don’t usually attract celebrities’ attorneys. But Angelina Jolie’s lawyers felt determined to serve her ex hubby Brad Pitt with a subpoena. As a result, Angelina’s attorney team tried to find the actor at the SAG Awards earlier this year, per Page Six.

Because Pitt previously won an award, the lawyers hoped Brad might attend the SAG ceremony this year. And so they hired a process server to take the subpoena documents to the award show in 2022. But they reportedly could not find Pitt there.

However, Angelina and Brad kept turning their French winery into a legal mess. And so the attorneys then aimed to track down Pitt at the Oscars. But Pitt’s lawyers managed to cancel that plan. However, their desperation to serve him reportedly stemmed from failing at other attempts.

Inside Angelina Jolie And Brad Pitt’s Winery War

But Jolie’s attorneys might have gotten the idea from another celebrity legal war. When Olivia Wilde stood on the stage during a Cinema Con event, she got served with documents linked to her custody battle with Jason Sudeikis. However, the method that worked for Jason’s attorneys apparently failed for Jolie’s lawyers.

Angelina’s attorneys wanted to subpoena Pitt directly because they desire his correspondence and records showing the ex-couple’s history with the Château Miraval winery. And the ownership of that winery has turned into a long-lasting war. In the wake of their 2016 split, Brad and Angelina have sought to sort out their assorted financial interests. But the winery turned into one of their biggest battles when Angelina, 47, sold her shares to a subsidiary of Stoli, a liquor company.

Pitt, 58, believes Jolie had to give him the right of refusal before selling her shares. As a result, the two have waged war over her demand for paperwork. But Angelina won one aspect of that battle. And a judge decreed that Brad needs to hand over the documentation. However, the actor and his business partners can still appeal.
