Brad Pitt – Catfishes Hit It Big
Brad Pitt impostors have managed to con women in to sending them nearly half a million dollars on social media. Someone needs to call Nev Schulman, because this is getting out of control.
Per a new report from People Magazine, “Spain’s Ministry of the Interior said in a Sept. 23 statement that five people were arrested and more are under investigation in connection to a “criminal organization” that allegedly defrauded over $350,000 from two women online. The scammers, authorities said, posed as a “fake Brad Pitt” to target his fans.”
Five people in Spain have been arrested now for the Brad Pitt cons, and are facing multiple charges ranging from fraud to money laundering. The fake Brad’s are actually looking at some hefty prison sentences if they are convicted.
Brad Pitt’s – Rep Speaks Out
Brad Pitt’s rep released an official statement on the actor’s behalf after the fake Brad’s were arrested and stated, “It’s awful that scammers take advantage of fans’ strong connection with celebrities, and this is an important reminder to not respond to unsolicited online outreach, especially from actors who have no social media presence.”
