They further added that since the conservatorship deal put in place over 13 years in court which granted her father some control of her assets, the singer had not filed a petition in court to have it terminated.

Britney  Spears News – The Conservatorship Arrangements

She revealed that the details of the conservatorship deal were adhered to, which involved her father and a private company jointly managing an estate belonging to Britney Spears. The arrangement was in place until early 2019 when her father became the sole conversation after the court granted the pop star’s request that her father assumes control.

However, the private company appointed by the court continues to manage the Conservatorship of her Person. According to Vivian, this is all in a bid to ensure the right things are done.

She further stated that her client, Jamie, always looked out for Britney’s interests as part of the conservatorship arrangement, as he cared and loved her as any father would regardless of being her conservator or not.

The statement from Jamie’s lawyer comes in the wake of comments recently made by senate members representing Ohio and Florida, Rep. Jim Jordan and Rep. Matt Gaetz, concerning conservatorship. They proposed a bill to allow people to have control of their assets without the interference of a family relative.

In September 2019, Jamie stepped down as the conservator of her Person, citing health issues. A licensed conservator, Jodi Montgomery took up the role.

In a move to prevent her father from becoming the sole conservator of her estate, Britney filed a petition in court to oppose the motion. She said she preferred it was managed by a qualified private company, nominated Bessemer Trust Company in another petition later filed by her lawyers. The nomination was supported by her mother, Lynne Spears.

In November 2019, Bessemer alongside Jamie was appointed as co-conservators of the estate by Judge Brenda Penny of the Los Angeles Superior Court.

A petition was filed last month by the legal team of Jamie Spears challenging the delegation of duties between him and Bessemer. Judge Brenda ruled in favor of Bessemer continuing their duties as conservators of the estate.

Further hearings on the case are scheduled for March 17th and April 27th.
