Britney Spears Drops Cryptic Message Following Ex Justin Timberlake’s Arrest

The “It’s Gonna Be Me” singer Justin Timberlake was arrested in the early hours of Tuesday, June 18 at the side of the road on Main Street in Sag Harbor for driving while intoxicated.

Reports have it that the singer spent his Monday night with some of his friends at “The American Hotel” in Sag Harbor before leaving them at 12.30 am.

According to the officer who arrested him, Justin ran over a stop sign and proceeded to veer off his lane before he was pulled over. The officer mentioned that the “What Goes Around… Comes Around” singer, had “glassy and bloodshot eyes and the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath.” The officer also said that while questioning Justin, “he had slowed speech, he was unsteady afoot and he performed poorly on all standardised field sobriety tests.”

The next day, after the news of Justin’s arrest already made rounds, Britney Spears shared a cryptic message on Instagram which left her fans speculating that it might have something to do with her ex-boyfriend’s arrest. In her post, she shared a photo of a cocktail with a yellow flower and captioned it, ” It’s the little things you know.”

After some time she made another post, this time around it was a video of her trying on various new dresses including a black and cream cocktail dress. She went on to write “First cocktail dress ever !!! Playing in Vegas today and tonight too.” Immediately after sharing that, she disabled the comments section to prevent her fans from bombarding her with questions.

Britney Spears — On Britney And Justin’s Relationship

The once-upon-a-time pop power couple dated for a brief period from 1999 to 2002. Their breakup made headlines repeatedly with both parties releasing songs about each other. While it was believed that Britney’s ” Everytime” was about their relationship, Justin kind of confirmed it when he released his “Cry Me A River” song shortly after.

The two later stayed completely away from each other’s business until last year when Britney’s memoir “The Woman In Me” was released, and in there, Britney made several claims about her relationship with the “Sexy Back” singer. In her book, she not only claimed that Justin cheated on her, she also alleged that she once aborted her pregnancy because Justin said he wasn’t ready to be a father.

“It was a surprise, but for me, it wasn’t a tragedy. I loved Justin so much. I always expected us to have a family together one day. This would just be much earlier than I’d anticipated,” she wrote while adding, “But Justin definitely wasn’t happy about the pregnancy. He said we weren’t ready to have a baby in our lives, that we were way too young.”
