Britney Spears’ estranged husband Sam Asghari has changed his career goals from personal trainer to actor. And amid comparing himself to Oscar winner Leonardo DiCaprio, Sam gave press interviews as he joined the SAG-AFTRA strike picket line.
Find out what Spears’ soon-to-be ex hubby shared about his acting aspirations. And learn what made Asghari decide to compare himself to DiCaprio. Get all the details below.
Britney Spears’ Ex Walks Picket Line
What do Oscar winner Leonardo DiCaprio and Britney Spears’ estranged husband Sam Asghari have in common? It’s all about the resume, claimed Sam in a recent interview.
Spears’ estranged hubby dished on his acting career as he walked the SAG-AFTRA picket line outside the Disney Studios in Los Angeles, according to People.
A member of SAG-AFTRA, Asghari held up a sign as he marched by the Walt Disney Studios in Burbank.
But Britney’s estranged hubby told reporters that he wanted to focus on supporting other actors rather than dish on his disintegrated marriage. The strike began in mid-July.
“We’re not here to talk about my personal life,” Asghari told reporters. And he declined to discuss his 41-year-old estranged wife. As a result, rather than discuss Britney, Sam stated that he wanted to “raise awareness on my brothers and sisters working hard and striking for my future.”
Sam Asghari – Compares Himself To Leonardo DiCaprio
Walking alone in the picket line, Asghari opted for an all-black outfit and a New York Yankees baseball cap.
But the 29-year-old made no comment about his decision to file for divorce from Spears after 14 months of marriage.
And instead, Sam announced that his resume reflected “the same amount of jobs as Leonardo DiCaprio.”
But Asghari then noted that the Oscar winner also resembled him in his current “jobless” state. And he added, “I mean, that’s the point of the strike.” Sam’s recent acting credits include two episodes of Taylor Sheridan’s Paramount+ action series, Special Ops: Lioness.
And Britney’s ex made his comments after SAG-AFTRA revealed that negotiations with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) for better compensation and benefits for its members failed.
As a result, actors stopped working. The SAG-AFTRA strike began in the wake of the Writers Guild of America (WGA)’s strike, which started in May.
“I hope everything gets resolved very fast so we can all go back to what we love doing the most,” stated Asghari. And he shared that he loves “making art and inspiring people. And writers are the heart and soul of every project we do. So SAG strong.”
When Asghari filed for divorce from Spears in mid-August, he cited irreconcilable differences as the reason. However, Sam listed the separation date as July 28.
And in his court documents, Asghari sought spousal support from Spears. He also asked that she pay the legal fees.
