Celebrity moms often face challenges in deciding whether or how much to post about their kids. But the decision that Britney Spears made on that issue backfired. The pop singer struggles with her estrangement over her sons, according to Us magazine. But that didn’t stop her from posting about them on social media.

Recently, Britney boasted about her son Sean Preston on Instagram. And the pop singer told her social media followers that the 16-year-old has become so talented that he could compete with Elton John. Britney and Elton recently teamed up for a duet, Hold Me Closer.

“My son might give [Elton John] a run for his money,” wrote the songstress on Instagram about Sean’s piano talents. And she added, “I have soooooooo much footage of him playing.” However, Spears included her other son, Jayden, in her praise. “Yep my children are freaking geniuses!!! It’s kinda scary,” added the 40-year-old pop singer. 

But then Spears claimed that one of her sons distanced himself even more from her. Britney shares her sons Sean Preston and Jayden James, 15, with Kevin Federline, her ex-husband Kevin Federline. And the songstress longs to tell her Instagram followers all about her teens. But the boys dislike seeing their mom’s posts about their personal lives.

And Britney shared her heartbreak about one of her son’s estrangement. “He stopped seeing me,” shared Spears. “I posted something of him,” she added without revealing which son. “But he got really mad so unfortunately, I haven’t been able to post my loving family.”

However, Britney’s confession came after Jayden slammed the songstress’ parenting skills. And in an interview, the teenager said, “I think Mom has struggled giving us both attention and showing us equal love.” But then Jayden reflected on the singer’s relationship to his brother, Sean. 

“And I don’t think she showed enough [attention and love] to Preston and I feel really bad for that,” added Jayden. “We’ve both been through so much pressure in the past that this is our safe place now, to process all the emotional trauma we’ve been through to heal, heal our mental state.” But Jayden also described life with Britney. 

For instance, the teenager added, “If I complained, she went after [my brother]. I feel guilty, so I am there for him. Mom has treated me better.” However, Spears then returned to Instagram to publicize her reaction to Jayden’s claims. And Britney tried to defend herself. 

“I’ve tried my best at being the best person I can be,” wrote Spears in her Instagram response. And she expressed her wishes for her future relationship with her sons. After having been “basically held hostage in homes under nurses and bulls—t, I hope my kids one day understand my reasoning,” added Britney. Spears also sent a personal message to Jayden via Instagram.

“I say to my son Jayden that I send all the love in the world to you every day for the rest of my life!!!! My love for my children has no boundaries,” wrote Britney. “And it deeply saddens me to know his outcry of saying I wasn’t up to his expectations of a mother.” The songstress also shared that she hopes that the estrangement will end. “And maybe one day we can meet face to face and talk about this openly!”

Kevin Federline offered his own views on the topic. Because Jayden and Sean Preston spend most of their time living with Kevin, 44, and his wife Victoria Prince, Federline shared his efforts to support the teens. But he also admitted that the boys dislike Britney’s Instagram posts.

However, Kevin shared that he tries to help them understand. “I try to explain to them, ‘Look, maybe that’s just another way she tries to express herself.’ But that doesn’t take away from the fact of what it does to them. It’s tough,” added Federline. His marriage to Britney lasted from 2004 to 2006. And as Kevin reflected on the singer’s impact on their sons, he admitted, “I can’t imagine how it feels to be a teenager having to go to high school.”
