Britney Spears Releases New Music With Elton John After “Indefinite” Hiatus

It has been confirmed that Britney Spears will be making her comeback to the music scene with a collaboration with Elton John. As for now, not much is known about the track, poignantly titled “Hold Me Closer”.

Before it was officially announced that Sir Elton and Britney were working on “Hold Me Closer”, there had been speculations that they were planning on remixing Sir Elton John’s hit “Tiny Dancer”.

This will be the first piece of music from Britney Spears in a long time. The singer previously announced that she’s going on hiatus until she gets her freedom back after being under a conservatorship that lasted for 13 years! During that time, aspects of her financial and personal life were controlled by her father and other co-conservators.

While Britney hasn’t made it clear whether she’ll be returning to music and trying to revamp her music career, releasing this new single with one of the music industry greats is certainly a right step towards that direction.

A spokesperson told PA news agency that more information is expected in the coming week.

Britney Spears – The Collaboration

Elton John teased the collaboration to his millions of Instagram followers by sharing the picture of a rocket and rose emoji (psst it’s easy to figure out that Elton’s emoji is the rocket, because of his biopic “Rocketman”). This leaves Britney as the rose, and what a marvelous one she is. The words “Hold me closer” were written alongside the emojis.

Before now, there had been rumors about the collaboration, reported by US media outlets, but no confirmation.

The new music news is coming as the “Circus” singer and her father Jamie Spears continue their legal battle. Her father’s motion to get her back in court in order to be grilled over the legal agreement was dismissed by a Judge.

The conservatorship was set up as far back as 2008, when the global sensation faced a public mental health meltdown.
