Clearly, she’s still got a lot of things to work out. Former chart topper Britney Spears says that she still cries at night over the 14 years that she spent under her father Jamie Spears’ conservatorship.

During that time, almost all aspects of her life were controlled by her father, as she couldn’t make the simplest decision on her own, go shopping, or even drive a car. Here’s what you need to know.

Britney took to her Instagram account to once again open up about her traumatic past. In her latest clip, she can be seen dancing with a friend. And while Britney looks quite happy in the video, she detailed the heartache she’s felt in her caption.

Brit Brit started off things by saying, “I saw this today and cried like a baby. I think it was my second year working in Vegas !!! Of course I was never allowed to drink with my crew so I never went out really !!! People won’t believe me but in 4 years I went out 3 times !!!”

She continued, “New Year’s Party one year … and the last show party !!! Obviously all I’ve ever known is to work. The one thing I remembered from my first few tours before the conservatorship was how I got to feel like a sexy sassy pants and dance all night in every city.”

Britney then said, “I was always so jealous in Vegas because my one dancer Mikey who was my best dancer … I could always tell when he had partied the night before because he was electric on stage.
