Britney Spears is speaking up, and she’s doing it on her own terms, not on some couch with Oprah Winfrey or on some TV interview, but by herself, whenever, however, and in whatever style she wants it.

Since the conservatorship ended, Britney Spears has often spoken of painful moments she had to endure during the 13 years it lasted. Sometimes she deletes them, sometimes she leaves them, but from time to time, one of these recollections will burst forth from her like the sun after a heavy rain.

At the moment, she hasn’t updated fans about her multi-million deal to write a memoir, and it seems she’s so impatient to get her story out she doesn’t want to wait to spill it all in a book.

Britney Spears Says She’s Done Nothing Wrong To Deserve The Treatment She Received From Her Family

In a since-deleted extended video shared on the star’s YouTube channel, she made controversial comments about her family’s participation in robbing her of a meaningful existence for a number of years.

“I knew in the deepest, deepest part of my core. I knew I’d done nothing wrong and I didn’t deserve the way I’d been treated,” she said.

Britney, 40, recalled that she learned of being put under the conservatorship from her parents. Her dad, in particular, has borne the harshest criticisms of them all, as she said he put her life on a chokehold. “It was pure abuse. And, and I haven’t even really shared even half of it. I think the main thing I do remember when I first started was my dad’s control. He loved to control everything I did,” she alleged.

She further detailed that she was made to work everytime even after leaving the hospital. “All I do remember is I had to do what I was told. I was told I was fat every day I had to go to the gym, I had to just, and I’d never remember feeling so demoralized. And just, they made me feel like nothing. And I went along with it because I was scared,” she claimed.

She went on to say that she shared her story to inspire others who might be going through a rough patch alone. “If you’re a weird, introvert oddball like me, who feels alone a lot of the time and you needed to hear a story like this today so you don’t feel alone. Know this: my life has been far from easy and you’re not alone,” she said.
