Britney Spears’ Dad Calls Popstar A Liar and Demands More Money

Everybody is coming at Britney Spears for their pound of flesh – and by everybody, I mean Britney’s immediate family. Her mother has requested that she pay for her legal fees, her younger sister has written a memoir about growing up with the great Britney Spears, and now, her father is seeking to be paid for being her conservator for 13 years. The only family member missing in this equation is the brother (and yes, before you ask, Britney Spears has a brother).

Britney Spears is married and concentrating on moving forward, but it seems that some people are not done living in the past. Here’s what Britney Spears’ dad, Jamie Spears, is up to these days.

Among numerous documents filed ahead of the next court date – July 13 – in Los Angeles, is a sworn declaration of Jamie insisting that he has never at any point authorized his daughter’s room to be bugged nor does he have knowledge of any such thing.

“I am informed of the allegation by Britney’s counsel that a listening device or ‘bug’ was placed her bedroom as surveillance during the Conservatorship,” the signed document obtained by Yahoo Entertainment states. “This allegation is false. I never conducted or authorized any surveillance of Britney’s bedroom at any time, including during the Conservatorship. I am not aware of any such surveillance having occurred.”

However, he did not deny the claims that he monitored her phone usage when he was in charge.

Days before Jamie was legally dropped as her conservator and Britney was, in a sense of the word, freed, the New York Times dropped a documentary titled “Controlling Britney Spears”. It claimed that Jamie hired the security company Black Box which monitored the popstar’s digital communications and secretly captured audio recordings – said to be up to 180 hours – of Britney with her now-husband Sam Asghari and her two sons, Preston, 16 and Jayden, 15.

Last year, Britney spoke up about the legal chokehold on her life, claiming conservatorship abuse. For the first time, she was allowed to hire her own attorney, Rosengart, who swiftly put an end to the conservatorship.

While Jamie claims that all his actions were in his daughter’s best interests, Rosengart said that Jamie continues to “harrass, intimidate and bully” Britney.

Britney has also made public her intentions to “sue” her family for keeping her in a conservatorship and using her as their cash cow for 13 years. She alleged that she was forced into treatment facilities and made to take birth control against her will.

She has since distanced herself from her family and didn’t even invite them to her wedding last month. She’s also working on a new book that will provide a rare insight into her life during her conservatorship years.
