Brooke Shields Recalls Confusing Her First Wrinkle With Dust Staining the Camera LensBrooke Shields has finally spilled the tea on the ups and downs of aging under the glare of a spotlight which favors the young and the beautiful.

On Jan. 14, Shields dropped her memoir ‘Brooke Shields Is Not Allowed to Get Old’ with a lot of shocking insights and revelations. One of them is her hilarious reaction to seeing her first wrinkle in a photoshoot. Awww, she’s so cute.

Brooke Shields – Reveals Conversation With Photographer Who Caught Her First Wrinkle On Camera

Aging is not the easiest thing, least of all when you’re working in an industry that wants you to magically remain young and wrinkle-free forever, or at least take any precaution available to prevent it.

For Shields, aging has been a huge learning curve that eventually led her to the conclusion that her body is going to keep changing all her life.

But the fear of aging hasn’t been all doom and gloom, because there were some noteworthy moments that the actress will no doubt look back to and laugh at.

Writing in a passage of the recently released book, she detailed seeing a crease in her skin during a photoshoot and immediately blaming the camera.

Shields recalled that she “took a peek at the monitor” after posing for a few snaps. Pointing to what appeared to be a “weird line,” she informed the photographer that she thinks “there’s some dust on the camera lens.”

The photographer didn’t waste time in correcting her, albeit kindly. “His response was something to the effect of a pitying ‘Awww, you’re cute.’ There was no dust. That ‘something’ was a wrinkle,” Shields wrote.

But that was not all the attention that her wrinkles would get in the coming years. At a routine dermatology appointment, she recalled how the doctor “waved his hand around my face and said, ‘We could fix all that . . .’ “ signifying her aging appearance.

“I look back sometimes and feel like I’ve done something wrong because I no longer have the body or the face that I used to have. And yet, if I did anything drastic to hold on to my looks from my youth or to stop aging, I’d be judged or chastised for that, too,” Shields wrote in reflection. “Do I sometimes wish that all my bits had remained higher and perkier? Or that I had the same skin that appeared on the cover of Life magazine in 1983? Of course I do!”

Shields promised that the memoir would pull the curtains back on aging in a way that will be both “intimate and empowering” and she did just that.
